Silvano Lattanzi Loafers

Women are said to be shoe-crazy but certainly some men have a weakness for fine footwear. How else to explain the existence of the $18,000 lizard leather loafers shown above. They are from Silvano Lattanzi who makes shoes from hand using the finest leathers and finished with Silvano's unique nailed signature on the sole of the shoes. His shoes have found favor with men and women including around the world from Gloria Vanderbilt to Arnold Schwarzenegger and maybe even a certain resident of Vatican City. The luxury shoes take more than 30 man hours to create. It's not easy for the customer either, those purchasing will be presented with a number of decisions including more than 400 leathers to choose from as well as linings, number of eyelets, style of the heel and the type of stitching. But these are shoes that can last for decades so a moment of care now can lead to a lifetime of comfort.

Miu Miu Perla Sequin Platform Pumps

The sight of these shoes online made me stop instantly to find out what they were and how much they cost. I can only imagine what the effect would be in person, to be walking down the street and see someone tottering toward me in these peep toe platform Miu Miu shoes. Just as there are certain foods of such a piquancy that I can be unsure as to what exactly it is that I'm tasting, these shoes with their kaleidoscope of Perla sequins left me momentarily style blind. Hideous? Fabulous? I'm just not sure. Unforgettable? Certainly. They sell for $950.

Sabelt has been working for the Aston Martin Racing squad for almost three years. The shoes come in colors ranging from bright to subtle. The pair shown above sells for 139 euros.

Crocs Introduces Stylish New YOU By Crocs

Yesterday, I went out with my husband. I got dolled up in a fancy new black dress, did my hair, and slipped on my Crocs. Yep. I spent date night out on the town wearing the same brand of shoes you find on most 3-year-olds in America -- sort of. But I don't think you'll find my version of Crocs in the sandbox any time soon.

I was wearing the Dangerous Diva shoes pictured here. They're part of a new line of footwear from Crocs called YOU by crocs. They're just as sexy and fashionable as any other date night shoe, but they really live up to the Crocs name in comfort and utility.

The footbed is leather-lined, but underneath the logo is a pad of croslitematerial -- the same stuff all the original Crocs are made of -- and the soles have a non-slip pad on the ball of the foot that kept me steady on my feet, even on wet ground with 3.5-inch heels. After a whole day on my feet in my Dangerous Diva kicks, my feet were still comfortable when I finally slipped out of the shoes at the end of the night. That's not because I'm used to heels like this, either. In fact, my standard footwear is one of three other pairs of classic Crocs (I have these in purple, these in pink and brown, and these in blue and brown) -- all flats -- so I can honestly recommend the new YOU by crocs line to anyone and everyone, even ladies who normally prefer flats.

All YOU by crocs shoes come in classic colors like black, brown, and gray, but they wouldn't be Crocs if you couldn't find a few pairs in orange, pink, and purple. Check out the gallery below for some of my favorite styles.

Giuseppe Zanotti's Christmas Shoe

One man's restraint is a another man's excess. Case in point the new limited edition shoe design from Guiseppe Zanotti. Vogue UK refers to the shoe as being "stripped back to basics." I suppose that's true if you consider a 1.5-inch chrome platform a 5.5-inch heel and and an elaborate foot harness decorated with studs and Swarovski crystals basic. These shoes certainly would pep up last year's little black dress for holiday parties. You can get your own at Giuseppe Zanotti boutiques on December 1 when the shoes go on sale for a cool £890.

Superga by Isaia Crocodile Skin Sneakers

In terms of a luxurious take on the classic sneaker, it's hard to beat this crocodile skin version from Superga by Isaia. The result of a collaboration between two famous Italian brands, the limited edition kicks are available by special order from Barneys New York for $2,000. Isaia is one of the world's last remaining Neapolitan sartorial brands, known for its beautiful tailored clothing, while Superga makes Italy's most iconic rubber-soled sport shoes. Other luxe variations include ostrich, sharkskin and Aquacashmere, a stain and water repellent cashmere blend exclusive to Isaia. The special edition sneaks are made to be worn with suits as a way of embodying casual elegance.

Loubinight Satin Clutch, Handbag of the Day

Although this creation by Christian Louboutin is a handbag, the Loubinight Satin Clutch still manages to channel the high heeled shoes with signature red soles that he's so famous for designing. Bright, vibrant green satin on the outside and rich, 'signature red' satin on the inside, this clutch's most endearing feature is the darling pair of miniature crystal Louboutin heels (you can tell because they have red soles!) that stand on the bag's top and double as the clasp.

If you're one of those who just can't get enough shoes, then this is the perfect way to wear more than just one pair at a time. $960

Azzaro Upgrades the Ankle Boot with Crystal Heels

The ankle boot is a big trend this fall and Azzaro's version is sure to make you feel like a princess. These Enchantment boots look fairly classic in black suede from the front, until you notice the subtle crystal trim lining the almond-shaped toes, which leads your eyes around back to the 4 1/2" heels covered thick with luxe shimmering crystals! You'll need very few other accessories to make an outfit complete when wearing these beauties, and you're guaranteed to feel like a million bucks. $2,135

Christian Louboutin Thinks Dubai

Women's shoe designer Christian Louboutin may soon open shop in Dubai, according to the Khaleej Times. The designer's signature red-soled sky-high stilettos seem to fit right into the architectural and style-centered city. The designer says he has been scouting out possible locations in Dubai to appease his following there.

If he doesn't find suitable real estate soon, those in need of a boost might head to christianlouboutin.com, which is set to launch any day now. You can find the pair at right for $1,085 at Bergdorf Goodman.

[Thanks, Ben!]

You Can Still Spend $1,000 On Kevin Garnett's Kicks

The last NBA season is but a memory even for Celtics fans but Kevin Garnett's 2008 NBA Finals $1,000+ limited edition sneakers are still up for sale. Adidas made 56 pairs last year and still has 13 pairs available for $1,017. Boston Sportz points out the Celtics have a big banner on their online store counting down the leftover sneakers but probably won't be dropping the price anytime soon.

Add it to the Wishlist: Prada Ruffle Boot

Prada's ruffle boot is a suede four-inch platform with gorgeous detailing from heel to ankle. The ruched ruffle (try it three times fast) is great in that almost-couture but totally wearable way.

The pair retails for $890, available at Saks or Barneys, though due to popularity Saks will only allow you to order three pairs every 30 days...three pairs? A generous quota considering the markets.

Exclusive Ltd. Edition Hennessy Sneakers by Jhung Yuro

With the end of the Beijing Olympics coming Nike will offer these flashy sneaks releasing on August 25th and offering them in a special 080808 box.
