Most wine connoisseurs know that drinking wine is an experience that employs pouring, swirling, inhaling through the nose, and tasting on the palette but all that can be enhanced by the glass chosen. There are specific shapes for Bordeaux versus chenin blanc, each improving the feel of that specific wine. The shape of the glass particularly effects the nose of the wine and now there is a glass that boosts that experience more than any other. The Silhouette Glass sports a unique cut-out shape to provide maximum nasal reach into the glass and a more intimate tasting experience. These crystal glasses allow you to touch the glass all the way up to your forehead when taking in the essence of the wine at its deepest reach. And at $54 each they are not a cheap purchase but the Silhouette glass may make such a difference you'll be knocking a notch out of all your glasses.Inhale the Essence of Wine with Silhouette

Quite ingenious. I think I'd feel rather goofy drinking out of one, at least in the beginning. The bouquet of a wine is so important though, I guess they would pay for themselves in pure delight of the full experience.

This is a joke, right? Any self-respecting wine drinker given this glass would be laughing much too hard at the notion to be able to swallow anything -- especially once you told him/her how much you paid per stem.
More to the point, really, how much +noticeably more+ of the "nose experience" are you going to get from these?
